Back to the Institute this part; Gerald still isn't any happier than he was last time we saw him. Enderby and Caldicott and all of those OCs from the original Torchwood 1907 fic are still oozing about the place, and a bit of 1910s casual racism, so be warned. Charles Gaskell is a canonical character, having been on screen for about a minute in Exit Wounds, and Dr Quinn and Lydia are sort-of-maybe-possibly canon, allegedly being two of the five people in the old photo in To the Last Man (according to the website anyway). Cambridge Circus is where John Le Carre's eponymously-nicknamed version of MI6 is based in the Smiley novels.

Date: 2009-07-20 08:36 pm (UTC)I've been messing about with some Four/Romana as well, just a short one a bit like "Dancing", but not as sexy, more sort of sad and thoughtful, set just before Leisure Hive maybe, with them realising that their time travelling together might be coming to an end and wondering what that means for _them_, considering how much Time Lords can change between meetings. And some bonkers Doctor origin story stuff featuring Susan, Morbius and someone who might be the mysterious Mrs Who, just thrown in for the hell of it!

Although I always like to think that they didn't fall out of love as much as that they'd reached got past the infatuation stage, like a ''normal'' couple. Still, I think Romana felt the pull of finding out who she was by herself. I think it was a much harder blow for Four than he was willing to show.
Also, you should do one where Ace uses Romana's tie, like you referenced in that one fic.

I don't think they fell out of love, either, but things change, nothing lasts forever and...yes, that kind of thing. Also looks at the idea that the whole of Season 17 was basically just their extended holiday around the cosmos (because, let's be honest, that's what it seemed like a lot of the time).

Yes. The Guardian-thing turned out to be a blessing in disguise that way. It gave Romana a chance for emancipation from Gallifrey and them both a chance to enjoy love. Well, it's trufax in my brain, anyway.

It could be an intro into that story about Seven and Ace rescuing Romana from Dalek slavery!

It's very convenient indeed.;) Speaking of which, I'd also like to see a nice Four/Romana pillow talk!fic. I don't know why. I just think he might be more open about things in that position (snerk!).
